Claire M. Silfies, 82, of Whitehall, died Sept. 16, 2017, at her home. She was the wife of Franklin D. R. Silfies for 60 years.
Born in Whitehall, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Katie (Kunkle) Kromer.
She was a clerk for Sears Roebuck and Company, Whitehall, for 30 years until she retired in 1997. She earlier was a waitress for several years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Donna and her husband Daniel Pavlick of Northampton and Susan and her husband Bill Whittaker of Macungie; four brothers, Leonard Kromer of Allentown, John Kromer of Schnecksville, David Kromer of Schnecksville and Richard and his wife Karen Kromer of Santa Rosa, Calif.; two sisters, Barbara Swoyer of Allentown and Linda and her husband Timothy Wotring of Schnecksville; four granddaughters, Amy, Kylee, Katie and Tina; five great-grandchildren, Jadyn, Colette, Audrey, Joseph and Tyler; nieces; and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers; and three sisters.
Family will received friends 9-10 a.m., following by a funeral service 10 a.m., both Sept. 22 at the funeral home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, 18067.
