Friends of the Macungie Institute hosted an afternoon of bingo at Macungie Memorial Park March 16. Doors opened noon and the line stretched out the doors. Bingo caller Denise Brosky, of Macungie, announced it was the largest turnout the group has ever seen. People even had to be turned away because they ran out of cards and seats. Approximately 200 people attended the event to support the Institute.
There were about 25 baskets up for raffle as well as a 50/50 that surprised the winner with $340. There were two tables of baked goods that sold quickly so another table would be available for bingo players still waiting for seats. With so many people coming in for lunch, the kitchen ran out of food before bingo even started. It was an excellent turnout for the Friends of Macungie Institute and they thank all who supported the event with donations. The next bingo will be held Oct. 26.
