Egypt/Cementon: Cash bingo scheduled for April 24 at Egypt VFW Post 7293

Egypt Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7293, 5209 Springmill Road, has planned the following events.

Cash bingo will be held 7 p.m. April 24. There is a cost.

The VFW will host concerts by Chelsea Lyn Meyer April 25, Castaway Trio April 26, Lou Franco Project May 2, DNA May 9 and GirlCrue May 10. These concerts begin 7:30 p.m.

At 7 p.m. May 1, singer songwriter Mike Sherer will entertain.

Performances are free to members, but there is a cost for guests and non-members.

The VFW is holding music bingo 7 p.m. May 15 and 29.

A Civil War encampment and skirmish is planned for 9 a.m.-7 p.m. April 26 and from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 27 at Whitehall Parkway, 4689 S. Church St.

Spectators will view military drills, firing demonstrations and trench battle reenactments. There is no charge, but donations are accepted.

The youth group of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church will hold a penny party at the church, 4331 Main St., Egypt, April 27. The doors open 11:30 a.m., and the game begins 12:30 p.m.

Food and beverages will be available. Proceeds support the youth group’s trip to the 2027 youth gathering in Minneapolis.

Country line dancing sessions are back at Egypt Memorial Park, Hillcrest Lane and Curt Simmons Drive. The sessions are planned for 6:15-8 p.m. April 30, May 14 and 28 and June 6 and 25.

If 1980s music is your jam, ‘80s dance party fitness classes will be held at the park 6:30-7:30 p.m. every Tuesday in May, beginning May 6.

Learn how to create a personalized charcuterie board 6:30 p.m. May 2 at Laurel Fire Company, 5114 Third St., Cementon. The Cheese Please Charcuterie class will provide instruction in knife cuts, edible flower creations and food pairings.

The Lehigh Valley Knights of Columbus is holding its second annual cornhole charity tournament 11 a.m. May 3. The event includes a kids’ cornhole area, 50-25-25 and basket raffles.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase. All proceeds benefit Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative and the Ecumenical Soup Kitchen.

Celebrate Mother’s Day at the VFW’s breakfast brunch, scheduled for 9 a.m. May 11. The menu includes made-to-order omelets, breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, French toast, bagels, muffins, homemade croissant berry casserole and sausage hash brown casserole.

Enjoy a Mother’s Day breakfast, set for 8-11 a.m. May 11 at Laurel Fire Company. The menu includes scrambled eggs, French toast, ham, sausage, hashbrown casserole, toast, coffee, chocolate milk, apple juice and orange juice.

The VFW auxiliary needs donations of items or gift cards for a basket raffle, planned for May 23 and 24. Donations may be dropped off at the May 8 auxiliary meeting.
