Coplay: Dance night set for April 25
American Club of Coplay is planning a dance night April 25. Doors open 5 p.m., and the Castaways will perform 7-10 p.m.
There will be a cash bar and food provided by a food truck from SMP Market.

The heritage committee at Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., is sponsoring a Viennese ball 2-5 p.m. April 27. Don your fancy attire, and wear your best with black tie suits and ballgowns. Listen to timeless music on the dance card with the Emil Schanta Band entertaining.

The Saengerbund summer concert series schedule is coming together. The lineup for next month includes Uncle Smiley May 2, Triple Dog Dare May 9, Common Bond May 23 (open for the public) and Stereotype May 30.
The gates open 5 p.m., and the kitchen opens 5:30 p.m. Bands will play until 10 p.m.

Coplay Saengerbund is holding Maifest from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. May 4. Maifest is the traditional German celebration of spring. A Maypole will be set up, and the Auerhahn Schuhplattler dancers will do the traditional Maypole dance.
Entertainment will be provided by Dave Betz.
Ladies, wear your dirndl for a chance to be chosen as the May Queen. Wear your trachten — German outfits such as dirndl, lederhosen, vests, hats, etc.

Coplay Food Bank, located in the lower level of the municipal building, 98 S. Fourth St., is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month. If unable to attend the scheduled Tuesday morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.
The food bank needs coffee, spaghetti sauce and noodles, canned pasta, rice pouches and non-sweetened dry cereals. Monetary donations are always accepted.

The borough is taking applications for the pool manager, lifeguards, and gate guards. Applications are available at the borough office from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Coplay Scholarship Fund Committee is awarding two $5,000 scholarships to Coplay residents who graduated from high school in 2024 and are planning further education at university, college, technical school or the police academy.
Scholarships are awarded annually. To support the committee, a 503(c)(3) nonprofit, send your contribution to 41 N. Eighth St., Coplay, 18037.
