Area volunteer firefighters were dispatched around 8:45 a.m. March 26 for a dwelling fire at 7521 Hamilton Blvd., Upper Macungie.
Upper Macungie firefighters from Goodwill Fire Co. No. 1 Trexlertown, Fogelsville Station 8 and Upper Macungie Station 56 along with Upper Macungie Township Special Unit 55, Greenawalds Station 11 Rapid Intervention Team, Lower Macungie Stations 81 and 1 and Cetronia Ambulance Corps, were all dispatched for the fire.
Upon arrival, Leroy Gross, chief, Goodwill Fire Co. No 1 Trexlertown, reported a working fire located at the rear of the dwelling.
Gross assigned arriving units to the most advantageous positions when each arrived.
The fire was quickly brought under control, but not before causing exterior fire damage to the home as well as smoke and water damage to some of the interior.
According to Lehigh County Assessment records, the single family row home is owned by Mitchell Zajac, Hamburg.
