Verna Chandick, 95, of Northampton, died April 8, 2025, at Sacred Heart Assisted Living, Northampton. She was the wife of the late Peter Chandick.

Born in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late Ralph G. and Susanna E. (Haberern) Hoffman.

She was a 1948 graduate of Northampton High School, where she was class secretary and a flutist.

She was last employed by the former AT&T, Lucent Technologies, Allentown, for 35 years as a layout operator before retiring in 1987.

She was a longtime member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Whitehall.

She was a life member of the AT&T Pioneers group, a member of the Northampton AARP and a former member of the Friendly 50s group.

She is survived by a son, Peter M. and wife Brenda of Bath; a granddaughter, Erica and fiance Kyle Richards of Walnutport; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by five brothers, John, Ralph, Alvin, Charles and Stanley Hoffman.
