Ronald Irvin Evans

of Salisbury Township

Ronald Irvin Evans, 72, known affectionately to friends and family as “Booby,” died peacefully April 10, 2025, in Bethlehem surrounded by family. Born in Allentown, he was a man whose warm spirit and generous heart touched the lives of all who knew him.

His life was one marked by devotion to his family, commitment to his work and involvement in his community.

A proud graduate of Salisbury High School’s Class of 1971, he carried with him the lessons and friendships he made during those formative years throughout his life. His strong work ethic was evident to all who knew him, as he dedicated many years of service to Bethlehem Steel. Even after his well-earned retirement, his influence remained in the stories and wisdom he passed down to his colleagues and friends.

His commitment to his community was unwavering. He was an active member of the Salisbury Township Zoning Board, where his insights and dedication helped shape the growth and development of the area he called home. His camaraderie and sense of humor were highlights of the McDonald’s Gang, a group where he enjoyed fellowship and laughter with dear friends.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Susan (Albus) Evans; children, Ronald I. Jr. and his wife, Amy, of Macungie, Christopher and his wife, Andra, of Arlington, Texas and Angela Georgis, of Philadelphia; sisters, Betty White and Deb Harper; grandchildren, Sierra and her husband, Nick, Savana, Olivia, Isaac, Griffin, Tegan, Tyler and Lola; great-grandchildren K’senia and Wieslaw.

He was predeceased by his parents, Irvin and Frances (Wetherold); sisters, Dorothy and Mary Ballek.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. April 17 at Cantelmi Funeral Home, 1311 Broadway, Fountain Hill. The family will receive relatives and friends 10 a.m. before the service.
