Fullerton: Easter week services set at St. John’s UCC, St. Elizabeth’s

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 575 Grape St., will be having a Maundy worship service 7 p.m. April 17.

On April 18, Good Friday, Stations of the Cross will begin noon, and the Tenebrae service of Shadows will be starting 7 p.m. On Easter Sunday, April 20, the service will be 9:30 a.m.

St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Ave., will hold Holy Week Easter services as follows.

On Holy Thursday, April 17, there will be a Mass 7 p.m. On Good Friday, April 18, there will be a Mass 3 p.m. On April 19, Masses will be held noon and 8 p.m. On Easter Sunday, April 20, the Masses will be 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.

For the month of April, St. John’s UCC is collecting pancake mix, jelly and coffee for the Whitehall Food Pantry. Any other nonperishable food items, as well as monetary contributions, are always welcome.

A shopping cart can be found in the coatroom area by the sanctuary for you to place your food donations.

To volunteer at the pantry either 9-11 a.m. or 5:30-7:30 p.m. the fourth Monday of each month at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, contact Gary Black at 484-274-2405 or gary.t.black@outlook.com.

Whitehall Active Community Center, 2301 Pine St., will hold bingo April 27. Bingo will start 1 p.m., with doors opening noon.

Bingo will continue with tricky tray, 50/25/25 raffle, piggy number, lightning game, etc. There will be refreshments available for purchase.

Bring a donation of a nonperishable food item, paper product (facial tissues, paper towels or toilet paper) or pet food for Whitehall Food Pantry and receive a strip of specials to be played on the first four specials.

Reserving a seat is not necessary, but if you want to reserve seats, please call or text 610-533-1357.

Remember, the community center has increased its cash prize payouts.

It’s time to make your reservations for St. John’s UCC’s night at the IronPigs Party Porch, set for 6:35 p.m. May 25.

The price includes admission to the porch, buffet 6-8 p.m. and unlimited soft drinks and bottled water throughout the evening.

It is Memorial Day eve, so fireworks will follow the game.
