Coplay: Garden club gathers April 24
The next meeting of Coplay Garden Club will be 7 p.m. April 24 St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St. The agenda includes a program on orchid growth and care, presented by Barbara Schmidt.
The meeting is open to the public. Consider attending and bringing a friend.
During the March 27 meeting, club member Mary Smith conducted a presentation about forced bulbs, in which she discussed how to coax bulbs to bloom indoors. Smith provided bulbs for all of the members to put in clear containers for indoor blooming by Easter.
The members also participated in an artistic tournament in which they made arrangements using evergreens in a boot. Attractive flowers and evergreens in a boot are popular arrangements often with a seasonal or holiday theme such as Christmas, Easter, spring, fall and more.
