RPA sponsors annual CleanSweep

By ERICA SEITHER

Special to The Press

The Rural Preservation Association of Northwestern Lehigh County had its 28th CleanSweep recycling event at the Lowhill Township Building on April 5.

More than 25 volunteers were on-site, at multiple stations, supporting this important annual Earth conscious program.

Residents were encouraged to drop off various items, including appliances, air conditioners, electronics, batteries, tires, fluids, trash, recycling, and much more, for a reasonable fee or freewill donation.

Funds collected provide educational opportunities for students in the Northwestern Lehigh School District.

To date, the RPA has provided more than $34,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors pursuing agriculture or environmental related fields of study.
