Linda Ann Heintzelman

Whitehall High School graduate

Linda Ann Heintzelman, 79, of Schnecksville, died April 1, 2025, at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. She was the wife of Richard G. Heintzelman for 58 years.

Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Kermit Heydt Schantz and Ruth (Williams) Schantz Frickert.

She was a 1963 graduate of Whitehall High School and graduated from Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing in 1966 and Kutztown University in 1988. In 1994, she earned a school nurse certification from Kutztown University.

Her career in nursing began at Duke University Medical Center as a staff nurse in the clinical research unit 1966-1969. From 1974 to 1977, she was a pediatric office nurse in Alexandria, Va. From 1998 to 1990, she was a pediatric office nurse in Allentown. From 1990 to 1993, she was a pediatric case manager for the central school project at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. From 1993 to 2008, she was a substitute school nurse in the Allentown School District.

She was a volunteer from 1993 to 2010 for Project Child, an agency for the prevention of child abuse.

She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, Emmaus.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Geoffrey R. with Susan of Durham, N.C., Joanna M. Casto with Robert of Columbia, Md., and Martin D. with Louise of Kennett Square; two sisters, Brenda Birgfeld of Maine and Melissa Swartley of Perkasie; and six grandchildren, Daniel J., Rebecca M., Emily J. Dwyer, Ehren L. Casto, Martin G. and Erik R.
