Catasauqua: Catasauqua thrift shop holding bag sale through April 17

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., will have a bag sale on everything through April 17. You can fill either a large brown paper bag or a large white plastic garbage bag for a small price.

The store will be closed April 18 and 19 for Easter. The changeover from fall and winter clothing to spring and summer clothing will be April 21-23. The shop will reopen with new clothing offerings April 24.

Regular business hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Volunteers are happy to accept donations of good, used, clean clothing, household items and toys during store hours. Proceeds from the shop are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.

Shop for books at the Public Library of Catasauqua’s used book sale, scheduled for 3-7 p.m. April 11 and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. April 12 in the upstairs community room at the library, 302 Bridge St.

Donations of gently used books can be dropped off any time during business hours, 2-7:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesdays; and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays. Items that will not be accepted include encyclopedias, text books, magazines, VHS tapes and soiled or torn books.

Come out and shop or donate to support your local library.

The Friends of Catasauqua Parks group will meet 6:30 p.m. April 16 at the borough municipal complex, 90 Bridge St. The groups meets the third Wednesday of each month.

The mission of the group is to improve the quality of life of Catasauqua residents through recreational fundraising events to sustain the parks.

The group is always looking for new volunteers/members. There are no costs or dues to join this group.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., will hold its free community egg hunt and bingo starting 10 a.m. April 19. The hunt, for ages 1-6, will be held rain or shine. Bingo is for ages 1-12, and an adult must stay with the child.
