Boys, girls fall to Palmerton in track

Palmerton swept Catasauqua in Colonial League action last week.

Payten Fornaro and Connor Hibell were dominant in the distance events for the Bombers. Fornaro won the 800, 1600 and 3200 meters on the girls’ side, while Hibell crossed the line first in all three of the same events on the boys’ side for the Bombers.

For Catty, Hamaad Jenkins won the 100 and 200 events and was the lone double-winner for the Roughie boys. His time in the 100 was 11.3 and in the 200 was 22.3.

Cadeo Estronza, Frankie Pujols, Manny Bolmer and Jonathan Cordon-Pinto also won events. Estronza won the 400 in 56.2 and Pujols took the 300 hurdles in 43.0.

Bolmer was tops in the long jump with a 21-10 and Cordon-Pinto won the pole vault, clearing 9-9.

For the Catty girls, Hailey Jenkins was a double-winner, taking the 100 in 11.8 and the 200 in 25.0. Alyssa Baker also won two events, capturing the shot put with a throw of 31-2.5 and the discus with a spin of 77-1.

Kadince Waldron won the javelin with a throw of 79-7.

In relays, the Catty boys won the 400 and 1600 events.
