Freedom sweeps
Freedom’s track and field team scored two victories over William Allen with the Patriot girls winning, 69-60, and the Patriot boys winning, 94-42, on March 25.
Freedom’s girls completed a one-two-three finish in the 400 meter dash with Natalie Ray (1:01.13), Alexandra Aurin (1:08.61), and Elaine Rodriguez (1:08.97).
In the 800 meter run, Ivy Avitabile was first (2:41.53), Gianna Gerould was second (2:47.03), and Adelaide Schmid was third (2:49.37).
The Patriot girls had another one-two-three finish in the 3200 meter run with Taylor Vidumsky (14:38.63), Ivy Johns (15:16.51), and Molly Parkin (15:21.83).
Nya Morris won the 100 meter hurdles (19.28).
Emma Pitsilos captured two wins: one in long jump (15-06.50) and one in triple jump (33-02).
Freedom’s girls 4x800 meter relay team took first place with Alaina Gerould, Ivy Avitabile, Adelaide Schmid, and Gianna Gerould (11:42.95).
Freedom’s girls (names unavailable) also won the 4x400 meter relay (4:34.80).
In Freedom boys races, Caleb Godbolt came in first in the 100 meter dash (11.76), Lashawn Johnson was second (11.80), and Jesael Marrero was third (12.13).
Ethan Huertas won the 200 meter dash (23.54)
Dylan Boyle took first place in the 800 meter run (2:11.25), followed by Brayden Boyle (2:16.28), and Gabriel Fihlman (2:18.61).
Brayden Boyle was the 1600 meter run winner (5:23.78), and Samuel Kurtz won the 3200 meter run (12:05.60).
In 110 hurdles, Amare DuBoise was first (15.82), Stephan Richards was second (16.92), and Navjot Sandhu came in third (20.12).
Stephan Richards was the 300 meter hurdles winner (42.79).
Aaron Beete took first in long jump (21-02), and Caden Clark won discus throw (113-08).
Freedom’s boys swept the relay events with Gabriel Fihlman, Brayden Boyle, Dylan Boyle, and Samuel Kurtz in the 4x800 (9:08.20). Names were unavailable for the 4x100 (44.12) and the 4x400 (4:06.42).
