Frank J. “Smokie” Solderits, 87, of Slatington, died March 29, 2025, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Lehighton.

He and his wife, Karen F. (Funk) Solderits, were married 46 years.

Born Dec. 3, 1937, in Northampton, he was the son of the late John and Helen (Kerschner) Solderits.

He was a truck driver for PennDOT in Northampton for 32 years before retiring in 1996.

He was a former member of Tri-Boro Sportsman Club, Northampton.

He attended Bethany Church, Wescosville.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sisters Patricia Bodner and Linda Pizzo, both of Northampton; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by siblings Robert Cenchitz, LeRoy and John Solderits and Betty Cenchitz.

His service will be private, at the convenience of the family.

There will be no calling hours.
