David I. Shoemaker, 70, of Macungie, died March 22, 2025, at home.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Irwin C. and June J. (Rhodes) Shoemaker.

Before retiring in 2009, he worked many years at Kraft Foods, lastly as an inspector and lab technician.

He will be remembered as an antique car enthusiast.

He was on the Macungie Town Beautification Committee, as well as volunteering at the Macungie Park.

He attended stock car races at Grandview Speedway, and he was a former member of the Alburtis Fire Company.

His survivors include a brother Kevin L. of Macungie; sister Janet L. Bortz of Allentown; and nieces and nephews.
