Betty L. Schantz, 94, formerly of Orefield, died March 28, 2025, in Cedarbrook Senior Care and Rehabilitation, South Whitehall.

She was the wife of the late Ralph C. Schantz.

Born Dec. 18, 1930, in Mickleys, Whitehall Township, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Bertsch Sr. and Helen (Stahley) Bertsch.

Before starting her family, she was a clerk at the former A&P grocery store, 19th Street, Allentown, for several years.

She was a member of Jordan United Church of Christ, South Whitehall.

Her survivors include a son Robert T. Schantz and his wife, Cheryl, of Macungie.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Diane L. Schantz; and siblings Raymond, Alton, Ernest, Paul and Edgar Jr. Bertsch, Irene Druckenmiller, Evelyn Lichtenwalner, Kathryn Moyer, Pauline Bertsch and Dorothy Yeakel.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. April 3 at Jordan UCC, 1837 Church Road, South Whitehall, with the Rev. Dr. David Charles Smith officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects 9:30-11 a.m. Thursday in the church parlor.

Interment will follow the service at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
