The 12th annual 3.21 Run for Down syndrome takes place on the Lehigh Parkway April 19. Volunteers are needed for setup 8 a.m., cleanup noon and everything in between. Eastern PA Down Syndrome Center has a variety of volunteer opportunities available for the event. Minimum age to volunteer is 14 with adult. Want a great way to get outside, educate children and experience farm life? Flint Hill Farm Educational Center in Coopersburg has an opportunity for you to share fun and informative experiences with school age children 8:30-11:45 a.m. and/or 1-3 p.m. Volunteers must be able to walk about 1 mile on uneven ground. Greater Easton Development Partnership is calling all community members and businesses to join neighbors to spruce up the West Ward April 26. Work alone, with neighbors or join one of the larger neighborhood cleanup efforts. Check in and supplies will be available for pickup starting 8:30 a.m. at 100 N. 12th St., Easton. Itty Bitty Kitty will hold a bingo fundraiser at Macungie Memorial Hall April 6. Volunteers are needed in shifts 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. for setup and food prep and 11:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. for game time tasks and breakdown. Minimum age to volunteer is 10 with an adult. Kitten season has arrived and we are seeking loving foster homes for the kittens that come into The Sanctuary at Haafsville in Orefield. Kittens need care until they are old enough to be adopted. The Gress Mountain Ranch in Orefield operates both a sanctuary for domestic and exotic animals and programs for therapy, education and volunteerism that provide meaningful ways for people to benefit from interacting with animals. Please consider hosting a donation drive for the animals. Items needed include Zero Gatorade, Zero cranberry juice, yogurt, animal thermometer, straw and pine shavings for bedding and more. Third Street Alliance for Women and Children in Easton is need of childcare volunteers 4:45-6:15 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays so moms living in the shelter can attend programs designed specifically for them.
