Think Pink Club plans Color Run

To support the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Campaign, Emmaus High School’s Think Pink Club will close its 2024-2025 school year activities with a color run.

To date, members of Think Pink have donated time and energy to Hoops for Hope, Coaches versus Cancer and providing chemo kits for cancer patients. With the support of club adviser Julie Williams, club president Ava Gaydos and vice president Taylor Haberle are organizing a 5K walk/run which will begin 11 a.m. April 13 in Camp Olympic Park.

To promote the color run, club members are distributing flyers throughout the local community, inviting the participation of track sign sponsors and “ ... food trucks ... [from whose food sales] a minimum 10% donation [will be given] back to the club.” Spectators are welcome; the event is kid friendly and a DJ will provide music.

As this is a color run, walkers and runners are requested to wear white. At the end of the race, they will be showered with pink powder – visual proof they support the fight against breast cancer. There is a cost. Participants may register by accessing runsignup.com, clicking on “Find a Race,” and entering “Emmaus High School” in the search box. The deadline for entries is midnight April 11. More information about the event is available by emailing Kristina.High@cancer.org. or calling 267-546-7060.
