Robert J. Transue, 81, of Pinellas, Fla., died March 22, 2025, in St. Petersburg, Fla. He was the husband of the late Josephine (Jo) Transue for 40 years.

Born in Northampton, he was the son of the late Rose (Jurasits) and Robert F. Transue.

He served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea.

He worked for Mack Trucks for 10 years.

He and his wife were the proprietors of the former Elmer’s Motel in Tannersville and several motels in Florida.

In addition to his companion of 15 years Irene Dillon, he is survived by three sisters, Patricia Guignet, Barbara Miller and husband Dale and Rosalind Hill; an aunt, Helen (Jurarists) Lavendoski; a stepdaughter, Lore MacNamara; two grandsons, Shane Lindaman and Ryan MacNamara; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Reinold Guignet.

There will be a calling time 8:30-9:45 a.m. at the funeral home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton, followed by a Mass of Christian burial 10:30 a.m. April 4 at Queenship of Mary Church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton, 18067.
