To the Editor:

I had a dream that Nazi-like soldiers were marching into my country. They then took over and destroyed our wonderful democracy, wreaking havoc with all the citizens.

When I woke up, I found that my country’s democracy was, indeed, circling-the-drain. I could not understand why there was no wreaking havoc with the populace.

I thought about it and figured out why many did not seem upset about this. The reason was that it happened insidiously. Most people did not realize that democracy was being destroyed until it was too late, even though I think there were numerous warnings and red flags. It is not as in-your-face as Nazi-like soldiers arriving.

I now notice that many are gradually realizing that, yes, democracy is ending in the United States of America – being replaced by tyranny.

For those who don’t pay attention to how our government works, the judiciary branch (Supreme Court), the executive branch (the President and his/her administration) and the legislative branch (Congress) utilize a system of checks and balances with each other to prevent one branch from taking over. But now, the U.S. President and his “Musky” eminence grise are eliminating these checks and balances.

There are still many people oblivious to these occurrences.

Please join protests, write letters, speak out and vote for those who will restore our country’s democracy.
