Carl E. James Sr., 90, of Lehigh Township, died March 24, 2025, at his residence. He was the husband of Patricia James for 62 years.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Emerson and Rose (Uttard) James.
He served in the U.S. Army.
After his military service, he dedicated much of his career to being a systems analyst at the Lehigh Valley Post Office.
He was also a water scuba safety instructor for the American Red Cross.
He shared his love of song by singing at church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Carl Jr. with Cathy of Palmerton, Melody Blake of Bangor, Maine, and Terrance with Kim of Windsor, Maine; eight grandchildren, Eric, Jaqueline, Matthew, Alexandria, Halle, Gabrielle, Kinsey and Kiley; two great-grandchildren, Mona and Kash; and two sisters, Janet Stettler of Allentown and Caroline Haydt.
He was predeceased by an infant son, Michael; and a grandson, Jessup Cadden-James.
