House burns in Lower Saucon Twp.

A single-family residence on Mockingbird Hill Road, just outside of Hellertown, was badly damaged by a fire around 9 a.m. Thursday.

According to Lower Saucon Fire Chief Ty Johnson, the four residents evacuated without injury before the blaze was raised to three alarms and help was requested from many local companies. He said though the fire appeared to have begun in the building’s rear, near the laundry room, the cause is under investigation. It took firefighters about three hours to get the fire extinguished.

The residents were aided by the American Red Cross.
