Downtown bomb scare

Press photo by Nate JastrzemskiBethlehem Police Department was alerted to a suspicious package at the North Street parking garage around 3:53 p.m. March 26. A safety perimeter of several blocks was put into place, as seen above, and the Fire Department’s bomb squad was called in to evaluate the package. The Bethlehem bomb squad was able to inspect the package’s contents and deem it not to be a threat. The North Street garage is once again open to the public. Due to the active nature of this investigation, no further information will be released at this time.
