The Northampton track and field teams opened their season with a win over Liberty in both the boys and girls meets. The boys were close, 75.5-73.5 winners, while the girls had an easier time, winning 88.5-61.5.

Alex Wiland and Victoria Phillips were both double-winners for the girls in the meet. Wiland won both the discus and the javelin. Her winning throw in the javelin was 106-06 and in the discus was 80-6. Phillips, meanwhile won the 300 hurdles with a time of 50.5 and then also took the long jump with a distance of 16-4.75.

Saige Korpics, Olivia Hayes, Anne Beenders and Lucy Colyer also won events for the girls.

Korpics won the 800 in 2:37.0, Hayes was a winner in the pole vault, clearing 10-0 while Beenders won the triple jump with a distance of 35-11.75. Colyer won the shot put with a throw of 33-9.25.

The boys had three double-winners in their victory over the Hurricanes.

Tanner Ault won both the 800 and 1600 events. His time in the 800 was 2:16.6 and in the 1600 was 5:03.0. Dominic Barkanic won both hurdle events. His time in the 110 was 16.9 and in the 300 was 43.9.

Andrew Szeplaki won the high jump with a 6-1 and also took the top spot in the pole vault clearing 14-0.

Alex Morales, Jeremiah Strowder, Riley Montgomery and Brandon Downey also won events for Northampton.

Morales won the 100 with an 11.2 time. Strowder captured the triple jump with a distance of 41-2.75. In the throws, it was Montgomery winning the discus with a toss of 91-8 while Downey won the javelin with a throw of 142-0.
