FHS gets tennis win

Freedom tennis players Noah Rodburg and Eric Wu broke a 3-3 tie for the second time in a week for a 4-3 Patriot victory over the Nazareth Blue Eagles on March 19 at Nazareth.

Rodburg and Wu teamed up at No. 1 doubles to defeat Gideon Knowles and Shivam Aurora, 8-4, for the team win.

Earlier in the match, Rodburg defeated Knowles at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 7-6(3), and Wu won at No. 2 singles by default.

Freedom’s No. 2 doubles team of Manny Suarez and Jonah Rodburg won their match against Patrick Baccoli and Chase Skutches, 6-4, 7-6(3).

The No. 3 singles match between Freedom’s Oscar Avila and Nazareth’s Aurora also went to a tiebreak won by Aurora, 6-2, 7-6(2).

Nazareth’s Vereen Sheka and Logan Simpson won at No. 3 doubles over Aidan Hugo and Henri Houle, 6-2, 6-0, and Nazareth’s Riley McMynne and Lorinc Van Platen won at No. 4 doubles against Aidan Cabrera and Michael Sloma, 6-1, 6-0.
