Student athletes recognized
Lebanon Valley College, Annville, recognized more than 200 student-athletes who competed for Flying Dutchmen athletic teams during the winter season.
Local students include:
Germansville: Samuel Bower, a graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School, is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science.
Kempton: Joseph Chukoskie, a graduate of Northwestern Lehigh, is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science.
New Tripoli: Matthew Santana, a graduate of Northwestern Lehigh, is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science.
All three are members of the men’s indoor track and field team.
The Lebanon Valley College Men’s Indoor Track and Field team recently concluded another stellar season, posting impressive performances in its regular season and postseason meets.
The Dutchmen won their second consecutive Middle Atlantic Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Championship by finishing first out of 16 teams on March 1, the final day of the event.
Head Coach Melissa Byler was named the conference’s Coach of the Year while Assistant Coach James O’Brien was chosen as the Assistant Coach of the Year, after leading LVC to the title.
Lebanon Valley also had nine All-MAC performances at the meet.
Additionally, the Flying Dutchmen finished tied for 20 out of 38 scoring teams at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference Championships, which finished on March 8.
