Shirley F. Newhard, 90, of Macungie, formerly of Allentown, died March 22, 2025, at Complete Care at Lehigh Center in Macungie. Born in Greenawalds, South Whitehall Township, she was the daughter of the late Walter H. Diehl and the late Beulah C. (Snyder) Diehl. She was the wife of the late Rodney R. Newhard who died in March 1996.

She was a high school graduate who was last employed in the interior proofing department for the former Merchants Bank, Allentown, for five years before retiring in 1975.

She was a member of Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown.

She served her country as an Airman 2nd Class in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

She is survived by her son, Rodney H., of Macungie; brother, Walter Diehl (Pam), of Erie; sister, June Johnson, of Kentucky; grandson, Geddy.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. March 26 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton. The family will receive friends 10-11 a.m. before the service.
