Sheckler science fair

Xzavien Martinez, in Mr. Wilson’s class, used a scientific method to determine how the growth of house plants was affected by feeding them with various liquids. His project is titled “From Root to Shoot.”
Visitors Paula Johnson and her daughter Piper learn some dental hygiene information from the exhibit “Don’t Sugar Coat the Tooth.” It studied how different liquids stained eggs, which represented teeth.
What is all the “buzz” about science? A group of Sheckler Elementary students have some fun at the science fair racing “Bee Bots,” which are programmable robots used to demonstrate science concepts in the classroom.
Elena Bernini, a fourth-grade student in Mr. Zieber’s class, displays her science project titled “Put Some White Into Your Bite.” The project tested various brands of toothpaste to determine which brand would best whiten eggs, which represented teeth, stained with coffee and cranberry juice.
Shaylynne Livingston, in Wilson’s class, explains her scientific research to Catasauqua Area School District Superintendent Dr. Christina Lutz-Doemling. Her science project is titled “Cool as Ice” and determined which materials melted ice the fastest.
