Larry D. Oswald, 65, of New Tripoli, died March 17, 2025, in Lehigh Valley Hospital.
He and his wife, Christine M. (Gehringer) Oswald, would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary next month.
Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Russell T. “Blackie” and Marilyn M. (Weaver) Oswald.
A 1977 graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School, attended Lehigh Carbon Community College.
He was vice chairman on the board of New Tripoli Bank.
Before retirement, he co-owned and operated Weaver Fuels, Allentown.
An accomplished outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapshooting, and was a lifetime member of both the Ontelaunee Rod and Gun Club and the North End Gun Club.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor and generosity.
He was a loving husband, father, “Pop” and good friend to many.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his children Jessica Pitera (Michael) of Gladstone, N.J.; Alyssa Metzger (Jacob) of New Tripoli; and Michael Oswald (Katlin) of Schnecksville; siblings Bonita Oswald-Repp of Swannanoa, N.C., and David Oswald (Barbara) of Blandon; grandchildren Eli and Theo Metzger, with another grandchild on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
