Gloria Mae Ringer

Parkland High School graduate

Gloria Mae Ringer, 79, of Fellowship Community, Whitehall, formerly of Schnecksville, died March 6, 2025, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. Born June 21, 1945, in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Stanley R. and Mae K. (Hunsicker) Ringer.

A 1963 graduate of Parkland High School, she earned a Master’s degree of Arts in German Language and Literature from the University of Colorado.

She faithfully and honorably served her country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era, and Desert Storm era with a rank of sergeant first class.

A German Teacher in the Bethlehem Area School District for three years, since her formal retirement, she worked full time for the former Sacred Heart Healthcare System. She was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, where she formerly served on the consistory, was a Bible study leader, and Vacation Bible School teacher.

For Harvest Home services, she was known as “Farmer Gloria.”

In her youth, she was a member of 4-H and, in her later years, while residing at Fellowship Community, she participated in numerous administrative and social committees.

Her survivors include a brother Alan D. Ringer of Schnecksville; sister-in-law Hope H. (Hoffman) Ringer of Schnecksville; niece Naomi R. (Ringer) Guenin, wife of the Rev. David B. Guenin of Muncy; great-nephews Gabriel Guenin and Jeremiah Ringer; and great-niece, Julia Guenin.

She was predeceased by brothers Carlton R. and Larry J. Ringer, and a nephew, Jonathan D. Ringer.

There will be a celebration of life service 10:30 a.m. April 5 in Fellowship Community, 3000 Fellowship Drive, Whitehall, in the Zentz Community Center with the Rev. David Guenin officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects 9:30-10:30 a.m. before the service.

Interment will follow the service at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs.
