An underwater love story washes up on stage with “Disney’s The Little Mermaid,” 7 p.m. March 27, 28, 29; 2 p.m. March 30, auditorium, Whitehall High School, 3800 Mechanicsville Road, Whitehall.
Fascinated with life on land, a mermaid princess dreams of winning a prince’s love.
Director Cara Craft is assisted by Choreographer Melissa Zimmer, Assistant Choreographer Gio Failla, Assistant Director-Vocal Director Elaine Ramirez, Assistant Vocal Director Ben Stefan and Technical Director Alex Witcher.
With music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, and book by Doug Wright, the musical is based on the 1989 Disney animated film based on Hans Christian Andersen’s 1837 Danish fairy tale.
The 2008 Broadway production received two Tony Award nominations.
Production numbers include “Part of Your World,” “Under the Sea,” “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” “Les Poisson,” “Her Voice” and “Kiss the Girl.”
