Liberty has been looking to make strides in lacrosse since the inception of their boys’ program.
Last year, the Hurricanes went 7-10, marking their highest win total in school history and this year they’re looking for even more.
“This is the biggest senior class the program has ever had so really hoping for the best season in program history,” said head coach Joseph Magargal. “Looking to beat some teams we haven’t in a while and are striving to make the playoffs.”
Leading this year’s team are the likes of Nate Vella (Sr., attack); Deklon Greer (So., attack); Elijah Heimbach (So., attack); Ronnie Heimbach (Sr., goalie); Cole Daignault (Sr., defense); Tristen Strawn (Sr., defense); Andrew Riggs (Jr., defense); Brayden McKinley (Sr., LSM); Milan Nikolov (Sr., SSDM); Jay Torres (Sr., midfield); Landon Lane (Sr., midfield); Ryan Cummings (Sr., midfield); Alex Younes (Sr., midfield) and Logan Vella (Sr., midfield).
Newcomers include Bobby lane (Fr., SSDM) and Zach Baurer (Fr., midfield).
With everything lining up for the program this spring, Magargal is hoping that equals to their first taste of postseason action.
“I think everyone on the team is looking to build in the success from last year and show this program is heading in the right direction,” Magargal said. “We really would like to make the playoffs this year.”
Cole Daignault is back for the LIberty boys lacross team.
