Salisbury Elementary School’s book fair will begin March 21 and run through March 27. Your child will have an opportunity to make a wish list with a QR code allowing parents to set up an eWallet for their student to use when shopping or if you prefer, cash still works. Students will visit the fair during their regular library class, but there will also be a family night shop 4-7 p.m. March 25. Parents are always needed to help students shop and purchase books, so if you are interested, contact your school librarian at ahagenbuch@salisburysd.org.
Salisbury Middle School will have a book fair March 24-28. The family shop night will be 5-8 p.m. March 27. They will also use the QR code eWallet system for those who do not wish to use cash. Happy shopping!
Do you have a teenager who used to participate in the summer park program? If they would like to relive their childhood in a leadership role, Salisbury Township is now accepting applications for part-time counselors for the summer playground program. The program starts in the middle of June and runs through late July. It is held 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday and 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday evenings. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and have their own transportation to the parks. Applications can be found on the township website and submitted online or at the municipal building, 2900 S. Pike Ave. by April 1.
Also on the township website is a link to Record Alert. This is a program through the Lehigh County Clerk of Judicial Records. It is free to register and it will send you an alert, either a text or email, if there is a fraudulent document recorded involving your property. For more information visit the Salisbury Township website.
Salisbury Township curbside branch collection begins April 7. In order to be collected, branches can be no longer than 5 inches in diameter or 5 feet long and should be bundled with twine. Smaller twigs can be placed in an open container. Only five bundles and/or cans are permitted per property. Please have branches on the curb by the evening of April 6.
Yard waste drop offs will be open soon. The Franko site will be open April 7, 10 and 12. The hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
