Freedom juniors Hayden Taylor and Cody Smith returned home from the PIAA Class 3A State Diving Championships with a silver medal apiece after placing second in their respective diving meets on March 14 and 15 at Bucknell University.
Taylor’s overall score from the girls meet on March 14 was 467.45.
Avery Hillier, a senior from Conestoga High School, placed first with a score of 480.35, and Juliet Hood, a senior from Allegheny High School, came in third with a score of 450.95.
Smith’s overall score from the boys meet on March 15 was 525.80.
Governor Mifflin senior Alex Wodehouse placed first with a score of 593.10, and North Allegheny junior Ethan Maravich placed third with a score of 493.70.
Taylor and Smith are the defending District XI champions and are coached by Mark Parry.
