Daniel D. Strain, 70, from Northampton, died unexpectedly March 3, 2025, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem.

He and his wife, Candace (Thomas) Strain, were married 17 years.

Born Jan. 17, 1955, in Salisbury Township, he was the son of the late Daniel R. and Betty (Egge) Strain.

He owned and operated J’s Steaks and Subs No. 16, in Northampton, since 1980.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Staci L. Wolfe (Adam) of Lehighton, Kristopher M. Strain (Amanda) of Emmaus, Brandon T. Strain (Jaschell) of Alburtis, Aleea M. Clawson (Brandon) of Northampton, Liam D. Strain of Northampton, and Olivia R. Strain of Northampton; sisters Kandi Kohlmeier of Allentown, Patricia Strain of Lebanon, and Kerry Shepherd of Ohio; and grandchildren Jaelyn, Dashon, Kieran, Jayce, Kameron, Julian, Sadie, Lochlan and Mila.
