Rita Kaye Snyder, 68, of Egypt, died March 13, 2025, at home. She was the wife of Peter Reichert.
Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Grace (Hunsicker) Snyder of New Tripoli.
She attended Northwestern High School, participating in the marching band, basketball, field hockey and softball. She attended Penn State University’s State College and Mont Alto campuses, earning a bachelor’s degree in biology and forestry.
She pursued a career in naturopathy after college, later deciding to work on a farm and drive a school bus. After farming and driving, she was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier and a NALC union steward in Bellefonte, before carrying mail in Whitehall. She retired from the USPS in 2017 after 30 years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a stepdaughter, Sarah Approbato and husband Eric of Hamilton, N.J.; four siblings, Gary of New Tripoli, Pat Christ and husband Dan of Kempton, Brian and wife Bonnie of New Tripoli and Brenda Burkhart of Kutztown; and extended family.
There will be a calling time 9:30-11 a.m., followed by a funeral service 11 a.m., March 22 at the funeral home, 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville.
