Northampton: Grace UCC plans crabcake, chicken finger dinners

Grace United Church of Christ, 902 Lincoln Ave., will hold crabcake and chicken finger dinners 4-6 p.m. March 21 and 28. Dinners include two crabcakes or three chicken fingers, a baked potato, coleslaw, roll and a brownie for dessert.

Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Breakfast is set for 8-11 a.m. March 23 at Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 2181 Washington Ave. Tickets are sold at the door.

Northampton Area School District community education is offering more classes. The line dancing class will teach some basic and popular country line dances. The last day of this class is March 25 in the gymnasium at Siegfried Elementary School. Brian McNeal is the instructor. Bring water, and wear comfortable shoes.

Aqua Zumba, a class where dance party meets pool, is led by instructor Tara Miller. It will meet 7:30-8:30 p.m. Mondays through April 7 at the pool at Northampton Area Middle School.

Stixercise incorporates drum sticks with choreography to give a total body workout. The class will be taught by Michelle Heisler in the multipurpose room at Siegfried Elementary 7-7:45 p.m. March 26 and April 2. Bring water and a mat.

NASD will be hosting its Soups and Scoops Empty Bowls event from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. March 27 in the cafeteria at NAMS, 1617 Laubach Ave., to raise funds to help feed the local hungry and raise awareness of food insecurity.

Each ticket holder will be able to choose their own unique handmade bowl to keep at the end of the complimentary meal, which consists of all-you-can-eat soups and bread as well as ice cream for dessert. The food is donated by local businesses, community members and school staff.

Assumption of Virgin Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church is having a kielbasa sale — 2.5-pound platter of assorted Kowalonek’s kielbasa samples.

Orders and payment are due by March 31, and pickup is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. April 11 at the church, 1301 Newport Ave.
