TOURING CHOIR: Thula Sizwe – the Group Zulu from South Africa – will present a free concert at First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem, 2344 Center St., at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 23. The concert is open to the public; a free will offering will be taken. The ensemble bring the sounds of South Africa’s indigenous peoples, including songs, drumming, and traditional Zulu dance, to their performances.
HI NEIGHBORS: Hi Neighbors, a speakers program offered by First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem, 2344 Center St., will feature WDIY Executive Director Margaret McConnell, giving updates about Lehigh Valley Public Radio as they celebrate 88.1 FM’s 30th anniversary. The program, which is free and open to all, begins with a social time at 9:30 a.m. with the presentation starting at 10 a.m.
On Monday, March 31, Lane W. Rundle will be on hand to share the story of “The Art of Ukrainian Egg Design (Pysanky).”
HOMETOWN HEROES: For the 15th year, ArtsQuest is transforming the SteelStacks campus into a living memorial honoring our hometown heroes. From May 23 to July 7, the campus will be draped with images of local military heroes as a display of appreciation and gratitude for their sacrifices and contributions.
ArtsQuest and Embassy Bank invite the public to submit photos of their family, neighbors and friends who have served or are serving in the military. ArtsQuest will accept the first 200 photos submitted with a deadline of March 31. Individuals can upload digital photos of their heroes at steelstacks.org/memorial-day/. Images must be a high-resolution JPEG, TIFF, bitmap or PDF file. Hard copies will be accepted at all Embassy Bank locations or at the ArtsQuest Center at 101 Founders Way in Bethlehem.
All images submitted in previous years will automatically be displayed as part of the ‘Our Hometown Heroes’ display.
Additional details on the 2025 Memorial Day events and activities at SteelStacks will be available later this spring.
