At the March 6 Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners meeting, the tree service project received a bid for services. The bid was awarded to Bartlett Tree Experts of Emmaus. It is a 34-month contract for $123,000 up to Dec. 31, 2027 with a possibility of two 1-year extensions.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike utility work related to the widening of the roadway at East Texas Road was considered. This is for reimbursement of utility work done in the area of the widening project. This was approved.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation notified the township of local road traffic counting for 2025.

The commissioners were notified of the new Lower Macungie Township Library President Erica Dreabit.

Martine Menninger resigned from the planning commission. Assistant Township Manager/Secretary/Right to Know Officer Renea Flexer was asked to begin a search for her replacement.

The next regularly scheduled board of commissioners meeting will be held 6 p.m. March 20.
