Salisbury Theatre presents ‘THE HELLO GIRLS’

Salisbury High School Theatre will present “THE HELLO GIRLS” 7 p.m. March 13, 14 and 15 and 2 p.m. March 16 in the high school auditorium. The is the Lehigh Valley premiere of this production.

The show is presented through special arrangement with and all authorized performance materials are supplied by Theatrical Rights Worldwide who describes “THE HELLO GIRLS” as “chronicling the story of America’s first women soldiers in this musical inspired by history. These intrepid heroines served as bilingual telephone operators on the front lines, helping turn the tide of World War I. They then returned home to fight a decadeslong battle for equality and recognition, paving the way for future generations.”

Music and lyrics are by Peter C. Mills and the book is by Mills and Cara Reichel.

The show is directed by Shannon Barry O’Grady with musical direction by Julia Urich, assisted by Lucille Kincaid.

Set design is by Chris West and O’Grady. Set execution is by West and the crew with scenic painting by Max Beck and Jeshua Caban.

Lighting design is by Henry Ingles.

Choreography is by O’Grady and Andrew Stewart.

Stage management/sound board operator is Haily Bender.

Costume design is by O’Grady.

Assistant stage managers/run crew include Ava Beck, Lee Carpeter and Kirrah Kelly.

The crew includes Max Beck, Jonah Bitner, Jeshua Caban, Livi Cudd, Lukas Fritz, Anthony Jarjous, Kirrah Kelly, Soledad Lausch, Charlotte Neuhs, Leanna Pallero, Kenji Payano Alvarez, Faith Spellacy, Hope Spellacy, Mason Milkovitz, Elijah Richetti and Johnny Tran.

The “pit” includes Kincaid on piano, Bruce Gaston on violin and Bob Stevens on drums.

Joseph Riser played by Anthony Jarjous, Pvt. Eugene Matterson played by Will Kocher, Gen. John Pershing played by Mason Milkovitz, Lt. Ernest Wessen/Lt. Beaumont/Soldier played by Soledad Lausch, Mr. Morris/Captain Ackerson/ German Soldier played by Michael McWhorter, Soldier/Soloist/Swing played by Jeshua Caban, Agnes/Soldier played by Beatrice Carag, Pvt. Robert Dempsey/Soldier/Soloist played by Elijah Richetti, Understudy Bertha/Operator/Hello Girl played by Naileen Perez, Second Interviewer/Soldier/Soloist played by Sophia Brancato, Operator/Hello Girl played by Naomi Smith and First Interviewer/Soldier played by Wyatt King.

“This musical is based on a true story of luminous humans who dared to dream and achieve more than society wanted to let them. They proved themselves, despite all who doubted them.
