Susan L. Glose
Susan L. Glose, 77, of Macungie, died March 2, 2025, leaving behind one bag of magnetic bingo chips, 231 colored pencils, two bags of gummy bears, 11 pairs of reading glasses and a multitude of other random items that would prove completely useless in any situation whatsoever.
She graduated from William Allen High School in Allentown, where only three of her teachers took an early retirement after having her as a student. She married her first husband shortly after her graduation from high school. She was never a quitter and continued to try and try again.
She retired from the grueling world of retail after 37 years of service. She started her career at Hess’s in china and crystal, later moving on to be a record buyer in the 1970s. She returned to china and crystal when she joined the Macy’s team. For the last decade or so before retirement, she worked at Pfaltzgraff, Calphalon and Marshalls.
She enjoyed cats, gardening, cigarettes, exercising (just kidding), shopping, Lady Gaga, happy hour, sushi, bird watching, Words with Friends, peach rings, rainbows, decorating, Neil Diamond, sappy movies and above all, her family.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and played countless hours of video games with them.
She loved people and was fortunate to have many friends. She was always willing to give the shirt off her back to a friend in need.
She is survived by her daughter, Clairissa, whom she sarcastically referred to as “Mom”; son-in-law, Ron; two grandchildren, Elizabeth (“Lizard Lips”) and Timothy (“Pick” or “Big T”) and his wife, Taylor (“Little t”); brothers, Grant and Lee; nieces and nephews, Katie, Andrew, Karlee, Kenny, Dana and Brandon; grand-dogs, Oswald and Tallulah; beloved feline friend, Sylvester.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elwood Follweiler and Lavinia Seabourne Follweiler; sister, Jane Weber; niece, Melissa Weber; cats, Sid, Jack, Iggy, Oliver North a.k.a Ollie, Puffy and Fluffy; a 1971 Buick Skylark; her big toenails.
