Nelson L. Schaeffer, 82, of Whitehall, died Feb. 20, 2025, at Fellowship Manor. He was the husband of Kathryn C. (Weida) Schaeffer for 60 years.

He was the son of the late Rev. Luther N. and Louise (Kruckeberg) Schaeffer.

He graduated from Kutztown University in 1964.

He was a Spanish teacher in Parkland School District for 31 years.

He was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Whitehall.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Karen Weinrich with Chris, David with Jodie and Jeffrey with Jennifer; four grandchildren, Benjamin, Alexander, Jonathan and Liesl; and one great-grandchild, Claire.

There will be a calling time 10-11 a.m., followed by a memorial service 11 a.m., May 16 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, Whitehall.
