AED device is installed at CWSA building

Coplay Whitehall Sewer Authority’s monthly meeting was held Feb. 20 at the CWSA building, 3213 MacArthur Road.

After Chairman James Hahn called the meeting to order, General Manager Matt Harleman informed the board an AED (automated external defibrillator) device was centrally installed in the CWSA building. A training session was held that morning, and all 11 employees of the sewer authority are now CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and AED certified.

In other business, Harleman pointed out that, in an effort to update the years on the field report from 2024 to 2025, the historical 2024 years were inadvertently changed to 2025. This has since been corrected, he said.

Hahn initiated a vote that was held on resolution 385 to change the retirement enrollment from six months to three months. This motion was carried and approved by the board.

Hahn also stated a letter dated Jan. 14 from Whitehall Township was received regarding the reappointment of Joseph Marx to the CWSA board.

In other news, Hahn discussed a CWSA response to the Lehigh County Authority resolution for the plan revision as well as an LCA response letter to CWSA about a resolution for plan revision.

Assistant Secretary James Roth, in reference to operations committee reports, said a quote was received for the electrical work required at the Eberhart Road pumping station.
