Nelson L. Schaeffer, 82, of Whitehall, died Feb. 20, 2025, in Fellowship Manor.

He and his wife, Kathryn C. (Weida) Schaeffer, were married 60 years.

He was the son of the late Rev. Luther N. and Louise (Kruckeberg) Schaeffer.

A 1964 graduate of Kutztown University, he was a Spanish teacher in the Parkland School District for 31 years.

He was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Karen Weinrich (Chris), David Schaeffer (Jodie), and Jeffrey Schaeffer (Jennifer); grandchildren Benjamin, Alexander, Jonathan, and Liesl; and great-grandchild, Claire.

His memorial service will take place 11 a.m. May 16 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, Whitehall, with visitation from 10-11 a.m.
