The Parkland High School boys and girls basketball teams will compete in the District 11 Class 6A playoffs, which began this week.
“The regular season was a good learning experience for us,” said boys head coach Eddie Ohlson. “The biggest thing we needed was experience and we designed a schedule to give us a variety of different experiences. We’re excited for districts. We have a long layover, but it has given us time to heal and rest up. Also, it gave us time to work on some things that we needed to work on.”
Parkland boys received the sixth seed in districts and will take on the three seed, Liberty, in the quarterfinal round at Easton Area Middle School Saturday afternoon as part of a triple-header. The winner will take on the winner of second-seeded Pocono Mountain West and Allen or Pleasant Valley. The Trojans girls team is the fourth seed and will take on the fifth seed, Stroudsburg, in a rematch in the quarterfinals on Friday night at Northampton High School.
The winner will play the winner of top-seeded Emmaus and the eighth-seeded Kids in the semifinals on Tuesday.
