Five Parkland wrestlers are headed to this weekend’s girls PIAA Southeast Regional Championships after earning their way through last week’s District 11 Championships.

Four Trojans took second place last Sunday at the girls District 11 Championships at Easton Middle School and 10 reached place matches at the event.

Ella Hesener pinned her first two opponents before falling to Nazareth’s Chelsea Dressler in the 100-pound title bout.

Lily Snook (106) also reached the championship match with a pair of pins in quarterfinals and semifinals. She fell to Easton’s Morgan Hyland in the final.

Saige Rittenhouse had tow in three matches to reach the 112-pound finals. She used a pin, a technical fall and a decision to get to the championship match, where she fell to Wilson’s Nevaeh Colon.

Lizkarla Grullon Vasquez pinned both of her first two opponents in the second round before meeting Easton’s Maura Case in the 190-pound title bout, where the Red Rover pulled out a 1-0 decision for the win.

Angelina Spachman (142) will join her teammates at Sunday’s regional tournament at Quakertown High School as the top three finishers from districts all advance. Spachman lost in semifinals but wrestled back with a win in consolation semifinals and another in the third-place match.

Four other Parkland wrestlers made it to place matches Sunday.

Abigail Taylor (124) finished fourth at districts, while Jayla Adorno (148) took fifth place and Payton Ocasio (118) and Natalie Deutsch (155) both finished sixth.
