Daniels named LV Soccer Scholar-Athlete

The annual Lehigh Valley Soccer Scholar Athlete Banquet was held Feb. 2 and a couple members of Parkland High School teams were honored at the event.

Trojan boys soccer senior Caleb Daniels earned this year’s boys LV Scholar-Athlete award, while Trojans girls head coach was one of two new inductees to the Lehigh Valley Soccer Hall of Fame.

Daniels, a senior defender and team captain, helped the Trojans reach this year’s state title game while earning All-East Penn Conference Honors and All-State honors in 2024. He’s a National Honor Society member and Officer of Spanish Honor Society. He’s also a National Merit Commended Scholar, an EPC Scholar-Athlete and earned a perfect match score on his SAT. He plans to major in computer science in college.

Haddad has been coaching for 20 years and has been head coach for the Parkland girls varsity team since 2007. His teams have won 11 league titles and 10 district crowns.

Haddad stresses academics and community involvement as his teams always have high grade-point averages and have raised over $175,000 for charities, focusing on children’s needs.

Also inducted to the Hall of Fame this year was Tom Hickey, a goalie coach at Allen High School and longtime youth coach at the Catasauqua YMCA. He founded Tri-Boro Soccer and helped found the Lehigh Valley Select program.

Central Catholic’s Delia McMullen earned this year’s girls scholar-athlete award.

McMullen earned First Team EPC honors while helping her team to district and state titles.

Forward Julia Hayward represented Parkland as a girls nominee. A team captain and EPC Third Team All-Star, Hayward helped her team win league and district titles en route to an appearance in the state semifinals.
