“Mamma Mia!” brings romance to the stage with classic ABBA hits, 7 p.m. March 14, 15; 2 p.m. March 16, auditorium, Catasauqua High School, 2500 W. Bullshead Road, Allen Township.
Director John Leiderman is supported by Assistant Director and Choreographer Marissa Brewer, Vocal Director Kirsten Almeida and Orchestra Director Rob Arnold.
Set on a Greek island, a young bride-to-be invites three men from her mother’s past to her wedding without consulting mom. She is determined to find out which one is her father and have him walk her down the aisle.
With music and lyrics by Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson and book by Catherine Johnson, the musical comedy debuted on Broadway in 2001, receiving five Tony Award nominations.
Musical numbers include “Dancing Queen,” “Gimme, Gimme, Gimme,” “The Winner Takes It All,” “Money, Money, Money” and “Mamma Mia!”
