John D. “Jack” Van Tol, 60, of Walnutport, died March 1, 2025, in St. Luke’s University Hospital, Bethlehem Campus.

He was the husband of Lee Ann (Bretzik) Van Tol.

Born Oct. 6, 1964, in Paterson, Passaic County, N.J., he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Gibson) Van Tol.

He was a forklift operator at Mack Trucks Inc. for several years before retiring.

Before that, he was a loader operator for Harry’s U-Pull It, Allentown, for 20 years.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and cooking.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by stepchildren Breanna Bretzik of Bethlehem, Branden Bretzik of Walnutport, and Brian Strawhacker of Jim Thorpe; sister Jane M. Spradlin of Slatington; and grandchildren Dante and Damien Cimino.

He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, James T. Spradlin.

His service will be private, at the convenience of the family.

There will be no calling hours.
